The active optical HDMI cable combines the benefits of optical fiber and copper conductors in a hybrid design. This allows high-resolution audio and video signals to travel over long cable runs. AOC technology suits installations requiring large distances between the source and display. The connection is also less susceptible to electromagnetic interference than an all-copper connection. For example, displays, projectors, AV systems and playback devices can be connected over greater physical distances. Its directional design defines the connection from the HDMI source to the display. Gold-plated contacts support a durable, corrosion-resistant connection.
